Designers get their inspiration at the oddest moments and from the most unusual places. That is one reason I spend my summers at the tip of the Olympic Peninsula.
I am fascinated by the quirky, old timey spirit of Port Townsend, Washington. This former Victorian seaport is situated between the Olympics and the Cascades along the waters of Puget Sound where it opens into the Strait of Juan de Fuca.
The art is funky and the livin' is easy. This relaxed atmosphere is a great catalyst for creative thought.
Cloud formations translate into a new color story.
Even the milk and honey color combination of these chicken feathers could elicit a new color scheme for my next collection!
And let's not forget that grungy, carefree spirit of the Northwest....trying to capture that in a new collection is a designer's dream!
Stay tuned as the Northwest Adventure unfolds.
